NEW YORK! (The Curvy Elle Lately)

November 8, 2013

On Monday, I returned from my trip to NYC. I made the choice NOT to bring my big fancy DSLR camera and my computer. I opted for my iPhone camera and my iPad. This was for ease of travel and being realistic. You need to experience your life, not always be trying to capture it in a camera lens.

I had a good trip generally–but isn’t there always some hitch when you travel? You get sick, have bad cramps, you don’t pack right, or something of that sort? I have been having bad back spasms for the last few months on and off. During my trip it was back on. Added to this, I brought the wrong shoes and ended up with a bad blister on the bottom of my feet (I had to hobble around). I ended up being very miserable and forcing myself to rest for a portion of the trip.

When the trip was good, it was really good. I got to visit all my favorite haunts and find some new ones! The weather was pretty wonderful for this time of year and I got to see all the beautiful fall colors bursting all over New York.

Here is a little recap via Instagram of my trip! (All pictures below in no particular order.)

1. Beautiful fall colors in picturesque Central Park.
2. First thing I did on the my first full say – visiting the Mud Truck at Astor Place to get my Iced Caramel Cappuccino. Yum!
3. A walk through the West Village (my favorite NYC neighborhood) and some lovely brown stones.

4. On my flight to New York. Almost ready to land!
5. Candy! One of the best candy shops – Economy Candy  in the Lower East Side.
6. The Fashion District, doing some sourcing. Working!

7.  Halloween, NYC style in the West Village.
8.  A couple of hours after I landed in New York, a walk through Union Square at dusk.
9. My last full day in New York, on a very chilly evening sitting in my second favorite park (after Central Park), Madison Square Park with views of the Empire State Building.

10.  Quiet Sunday in the Lower East Side.
11. Another picturesque fall photo of Central Park.
12. Outside my favorite museum, The Frick Collection. I was lucky to be able to see Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, which was on special exhibition.
