That “happy” day has rolled around for another year! I have mixed emotions in regards to Valentine’s Day. I’ve already mentioned it a couple of times in the past week (
here and
here). I’ve never really had a Valentine’s Day that some guy did the “typical” thing and did something to make my day special (as mentioned
here).
The holiday has brought on some feelings about the romantic side of my life (or the lack there of). I know it is majorly my own fault, and up until recently I haven’t wanted to be in a relationship, but now I’m in a place and time of changes. It REALLY frustrates me that men no longer take the active role in pursuit.
I know this is sexist, but maybe in somethings I am a traditionalist. I want to be pursued. I want some guy to have to balls to pursue me. I’m tired of pussy footers!
Back to reality Laurel! Maybe, I just need to get over this. I don’t think this is going to happen any time soon, unless I want to be pursued in a bar by a drunk lout. I guess it’s time to “take to bull by the horn” sort-to-speak and make my own destiny?
