Baby Doll!

From the movie, Baby Doll.  (Picture Source)

Yesterday, I received (what I had started calling) my “Baby Doll Shoes,” which I ordered on Black Friday. They literally look like they should be on a little girl or baby doll. I knew from the start I needed a pair of frilly socks to go with them! Which led me to think of the old black and white movie from the Tennesee Williams screen play called Baby Doll.

Baby Doll is about this young (not yet legal) southern bell who is arranged off the marry a supposed wealthy cotton man before her father dies. Turns out it’s too good to be true. The plantation house/mansion is falling to the ground, the man is a slime ball, and “Baby Doll” is not yet a woman. The funny part about the movie is that “Baby Doll” sleeps in a crib, sucks her thumb, and has arranged that her husband can’t sleep with her until she turns 18 (she’s 17).

You can say this movie is my inspiration for this look and photo shoot. To give you an idea for the feel of the movie, here is the original trailer:

(Please note: Please do not take any offense to the language/slanders used in the trailer. It is for historical perspective only.)
