Home is Where the Heart is…

May 7, 2012

I recently spent some time back home in the San Francisco Bay Area and had the opportunity to do some shopping for Vintage Plus Size clothing. This was something of an idea I have had, but had never gotten around to doing.  There was always something else to be done! Finally, I had the time and opportunity to go out in search of the elusive larger sized vintage clothing. I found a bunch of good finds—I actually had to be choosy in what I was buying because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to fit everything in my suitcase!

One of my finds was this beautiful navy colored pleated dress and vintage 1980’s Ferragamo pumps. You can see some shots in my header above.

I got all dolled up and prettified. My Grandmother let me do a little photo shoot in her bedroom. Her house is very cute—a typical 1960’s track home in suburban California. When you step in you almost feel like you stepped back in time.
I think this dress is from the 1970’s or 1980’s, just because of the fact that it is 100% Polyester.  Silhouette wise, this could be from the 1950’s! It is so flattering and comfortable. It would definitely flatter all different body types with the elastic waist and full skirt. I would wear this to work with some flats or out for cocktails with some high heels.

My Grandfather and I. (RIP Grumps. I will miss you!)

Even my Grandmother’s little dog, Flossie wanted to get in on the action! She helped me model my 1960’s Crocodile Hand Bag by Mayer New York.
