Doppelganger: Fact vs. Fiction

February 20, 2013

I know in the deepest depths of my heart, that any girl, at any size can be fashionable and on trend in whatever way she wishes to be. That being said, just because a certain designer piece isn’t made in your size and/or price point, doesn’t mean that you can’t wear it. You simply have to “think outside the box.”  It may be cliché to say, but it is comeplety true  in this circumstance.

First, you have to ask yourself:

1. What elements of this design can I wear? Color…? Texture…? Shape…? Silhouette…?
2. How can I find something similar in my price point?

Most of the time your answer can be in your very own closet (with a little help with styling and accessories) or try your local thrift store–you never know what you will find in your size!

To prove my point, I am going to share some fashion designer pieces versus my plus size vintage pieces from The Curvy Elle Shop in this week’s doppelgangers!
